Piedra Hitam Tiles also known as Black Lavastone or Temple Stone It’s a variety of igneous rock originating from volcanic processes, displaying a typically dark color spectrum spanning from deep black to dark gray. Renowned for its porous and lightweight attributes, this stone forms as molten lava from a volcano cools and solidifies. Our Piedra Hitam originates from Mount Merapi – Central Java in Indonesia. Black Piedra has the advantage of being resistant to extreme weather, for example its application to the Borobudur and Prambanan temples which have survived thousands of years.
